Simulate Toilet Flush with a 555 Timer Circuit
Assuming you are familiar with how a toilet flushes, here is a 555 timer IC circuit that is analogous to that action.
Step 1. When the red trace: V(flapper) goes to ZERO, it indicates the action of opening the flapper by turning the flush handle.
Step 2. Pay attention to the green trace: V(water_tank). This voltage starts dropping, as the charge held on the capacity, analogous to the water in the water tank, draining into the toilet bowl.
Step 3. At certain point of the voltage level, the blue trace: V(faucet) turns on automatically. Initially water is entering the tank, as well as leaving the tank as long as the flapper hasn’t been closed.
